 - Early Shoes had a Pin type spring mount which was found to be weak, these late type Shoes have a Hole for Spring mounting so one late type Return Spring will be required for each pair of Shoes, this also applies to early versions of some of the other models listed.

These are good quality brake shoes and a perfect fit for my 230SL. I’ve had problems in the past with remanufactured/relined brake shoes and I’m willing to spend a little more to ensure a smooth installation and reliable service.
