This item was sold as a fit for the early 230SL. It did not fit but fortunately I was able to take the nose piece off my old dashpot and replace the one on the new dashpot. So it worked fine.
Need to relook at your inventory to see if something might have gotten mixed up. The early 230SL takes a longer dashpot.
